When they hear I don't have a wife&kids or a television, and hate sports, people wonder "What I Do?" This journal chronicled the adventures and inner life of an unconventional man who made his home in Silicon Valley, California. "Rasch" has been the author's nickname since high school (although this is the only place it's spelled with a "c").

Clues & Cues

• Essays are often "What I've Seen" or "What I Think". If nothing exceptional happened, I may describe a more interesting day in my past, or hold forth on some contemporary issue. Sometimes I quote what I'm reading.
• • An effort is made to post the day's page either that night or early the next day.
  • Often some tweaking occurs with an entry over the next few days.
• • People close to me are identified in the narrative by single initials.
  • Descriptive information about them is available in the Who's Who.
• • the Index by month.
  • Previous Months' entries are also accessible in the Archives.
    
• • I create all graphics used at this site (with a few obvious exceptions). Be aware that those rare images are frequently links, but since I turn off their borders you'd have to mouse over to notice.
  • My HTML is composed on the fly in a bare-bones text editor like vi or (usually) Notepad.
