I'm rolling the Happy Fun Die
around in my hand while looking at Kory and wondering what card
he played. (If I roll Good, I'll play a 3, and if I roll Evil,
I'll play a 1.)

Houston, We Have Lift-Off! |
|
It
was exactly a year ago that we first were hoping to have our
fancy new fully-integrated shopping cart online. Well, as they
say, good things come to those who wait, and SuperFRED has indeed
been worth waiting for. Our hats are off to Liam
and Dale
and everyone else who has helped design, build, test, or otherwise
bring Kristin's
vision for this system into being. It's been WAY more work than
we originally figured, and it has been painful at times, but
the end result is magnificent. SuperFRED rocks!
Anyway, we're all worn out from getting everything ready,
and since today is a holiday and time is short, I'm just going
to end this article here. Go surf around at the new LooneyLabs.com
site during the time you would otherwise have spent reading this
article!
Please let us know
what you think of the new site! If anything acted strangly, or
was not as clearly explained as it might have been... we want
to hear about it - I'm sure there are still some bugs to work
out...

Kristin has lost 15 pounds over the
course of the last 15 weeks! With the gift of funding from her
father, she hired a totally great personal trainer named
Elie,
and so far, her program is working wonderfully! (Keep up the
good work, you two! Thanks Dad!) |

"I think my first encounter with Looney
Labs games was when a friend of mine recounted her first Fluxx
game: her friends said 'to start, there are no rules except what's
on the cards', so she looked at her hand, saw a card that said
'if you have milk and cookies in front of you, you win', went
to the kitchen, came back with some milk and cookies, then played
the card and said 'I win!' Which I guess just goes to show that
you still need to explain some things before you start playing

"For more than 30 years now,
the nonstop refrain from a very large and very outspoken portion
of the population has been that there is nothing more important
in the life of American citizens than 'choice.' Of course, this
is all aimed at allowing a woman, as it is euphemistically phrased,
to 'control her own health-care decisions.' Still, average people
start wondering after a while: If choice is so important, why
should it only apply to women, and only for one thing? For about
the same amount of time, we've been hearing the gospel of 'tolerance'
-- that the only unpardonable sin in American life is intolerance.
No wonder people start to smirk when they hear about 'zero tolerance'
for marijuana." -- Taylor Armerding, "Hypocrisy
on Drugs Enables Our Real Threats", The Massachusetts

"Nanofictionary,
is a smash hit with my friends, family, and even teachers. When
I first got the chance to play it, I was thinking, 'They've done
it again.' My friends all agree: Nanofictionary is excellent.
It was the gaming day's highlight. We played the game one time
in class by dividing the 24 kids into 6 teams.... All the kids
loved it, and now my English teacher has now instituted that
the last Friday in every month is Nanofictionary Day." -- Email from Chris L, who would love to attend a
con and meet the Looneys but is yet to get permission from his
parents since he's only 14. :) |
