In the morning, Dave remembered the strange black package, with
a bit of fear and regret. Throwing it away was probably not the
smartest thing in the world. But as he thought about it further,
he stood his ground. He was not about to be pushed around by people
he didn't even know. They were wrong if they thought they could
force him to take orders from them.
Over breakfast, he told the Princess about it. She seemed amused by the package, and thought Dave had made a big mistake in throwing it away. They argued for a long time about it. Dave insisted that whoever had sent it to him had been way out of line in expecting him to be their custodian, and that his action had been perfectly reasonable. However, as that day wore on he became increasingly concerned about what would happen if whoever sent him the stuff suddenly demanded it back.
