Official Announcement: Zombie
Fluxx!!! |
|
As
I mentioned two weeks ago, when
I first described it, my new game Zombie Fluxx is so cool and
promising that we're fast-tracking it into production. With that
in mind, we have this week officially announced
it to the game industry, which Kristin did in person at the GAMA
Trade Show in Las Vegas (which just ended).
Here's the 100 word advertising blurb we're starting to use
(along with this preliminary
logo image):
Yes, it's Fluxx... with Zombies! The newest
Fluxx features a new type of card: The Creeper. It's like a Keeper
you don't want but must play anyway, and it usually stops you
from winning. The good news is, Zombie Fluxx also includes a
bunch of Keepers you can use as weapons against the Zombie-Creepers,
including the Shotgun, the Chainsaw, and the Can of Gasoline.
Plus you've got Sandwiches and Coffee and a couple of Friends
to help you win. The bad news is, if your Friends become Zombies,
you'll have to destroy them. Welcome to the dark side of Fluxx!
Packaging: 84 cards + instructions, in tuck box - six decks packaged
in display box.
That said, I've prepared an even more exciting glimpse inside
the new game, in the form of this week's Ask
Andy video, which is a Preview
of Zombie Fluxx.
In other news, I'm continuing to refine the design for the
other new game I'm currently finishing up the design for, which
I described last week as Secret
Project 3H-1. I'm glad I haven't announced the name yet, since
I've already decided to change it once so far. But it's shaping
up very nicely and I'm really excited about it, too!

Thanks

My zombie research continued this week with my third zombie
movie viewing: 28 Days Later. A friend of mine who really digs
that film was inspired by the "Zombie-Challenge" I
described 2
weeks ago, of editing out the really nasty gory parts of
a zombie movie so that a weak-stomached guy like me could see
it. He did a great job, too, replacing the realistic gore with
a flashcard, providing the viewer with a quick text summary of
the gruesome action being skipped (such as "Zombies 'Mailer'
& 'Hat Head' tear 'No Bullets' limb from limb"). Anyway,
I also really enjoyed the film, which is an intense and fascinating
tale, but the best part was getting to see it on my terms. (Thanks
again, dude!) |

"While smoking marijuana is never good for the lungs,
the active ingredient in pot may help fight lung cancer, new
research shows. Harvard University researchers have found that,
in both laboratory and mouse studies, delta-tetrahydrocannabinol
(THC) cuts tumor growth in half in common lung cancer while impeding
the cancer's ability to spread. The compound 'seems to have a
suppressive effect on certain lines of cancer cells,' explained
Dr. Len Horovitz, a pulmonary specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital
in New York City. According to the researchers, THC fights lung
cancer by curbing epidermal growth factor (EGF), a molecule that
promotes the growth and spread of particularly aggressive non-small
cell lung cancers." -- Forbes article, "Marijuana
Compound May Fight Lung Cancer" |
